Community Employee Spotlight: Teri Larson, Laura Rodriguez, and Carole Whitlock

Laura started her Silverstone career as a concierge in September 2020. In the spring of 2022, Teri was recruited as the Lifestyle Manager. She soon recognized Laura’s potential, and when a full-time position in the Lifestyles department opened later that summer, she knew Laura was the perfect fit. And she was, she's excelled in the role for two years now. In the spring of 2023, Carole was hired for an on-call Lifestyle position. When one of our full-time positions became available, Carole stepped in to fill the roll through the holidays and until a full-time candidate could be hired. Her experiences, including as a retired dietitian, has brought a new level of engaging opportunities for our residents. In September, Silverstone launched the Late Bloomers Garden Club for our residents. Carole was instrumental with getting our above ground Care Center gardens established.

The highlight of the trio's day starts off with making eye contact with almost every single resident by delivering the Daily Chronicle and morning word games. This opportunity is also beneficial for a daily reminder of the events scheduled for the day. They all enjoy lifelong learning with a positive attitude which overflows to residents’ desire to have fun as well. The team ends their day with a smile knowing that they have enriched their residents’ day!

All three have similar interests outside of Vi. They each love spending time with their families: Laura with her four daughters; Carole with her three daughters and four grandchildren; and Teri with her two sons and one grandson, and, of course, time with their spouses. "If you’re happy in your home, you will be happy in your life," Teri added.
