Vi at The Glen to Mark Milestone with Celebration
Founding Residents of Senior Living Community to Join 20th Anniversary Commemoration
Glenview, IL (August 3, 2022) – One of the first couples to move into Vi at The Glen will help the senior living community celebrate 20 years of operation on August 11, 2022. Jim & Dolores Conway will join nearly 300 of their neighbors, and executives from Vi’s corporate office in nearby Chicago, for an outdoor summer cocktail party to mark the milestone.
The Conways who decided to move to the community before it had even been built, say their two decades on campus have helped them stay active and vibrant. “We’ve met maybe 800 people, and 400 of them have become dear friends. We love doing things together. Where in the world can you develop hundreds of new acquaintances that turn into deep friendships?” Jim said.
Gathering with some of those new and longtime friends, the Conways will participate in the celebration which will traverse The Glen’s indoor and outdoor venues. The Emerald Jubilee event will feature gourmet food carving, seafood and dessert stations, along with entertainment by local DJ Gus and Jazz Trio Eric Schneider & Friends.
“Since we welcomed our first residents in 2002, Vi at The Glen has made it a priority to create an extraordinary place for them to live,” said Steven Fowler, executive director. “The completion of a $6.1 million refresh of the property in 2020 is a testament to the commitment we have to provide senior adults with a top tier living environment and enriching programs. On this anniversary, we are thrilled to celebrate our growth and longevity as a community.”
Vi at The Glen is located on Chicago’s North Shore and encompasses 26 acres of the former site of the Great Lakes Naval Air Station.
